The Steven Farrell Podcast

Aug 5, 2019

Imagine losing your hair. How would that make you feel?

In this episode I speak to Emma Southern, whose hair began to fall out when she was 10 years’ old. Emma who’s also known as Lady Alopecia shares her story of what she felt like, how she managed and how other people reacted even telling the story of a night when, out of the blue a stranger in a bar, licked her head.

In this Podcast episode we tackle subjects like stress, depression and blame and how events in our lives can be both great and dreadful, we also speak about gratitude, reframing situations and acceptance.

Emma also shares some of the tools she uses to help her with her alopecia, from meditation, to breathing, yoga to taking time to check in with her body. Overall this is an uplifting episode and a reminder that it’s okay to have a bad moment or period and it’s also okay to breathe life in, stick on a pair of heart-shaped sun glasses and smile at the world.
